USTDA Mena/Europe Regional: Turkey “Smart Grid” Reverse Trade Mission (RTM)

As a strategic part of the National Export Initiative (NEI), the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) invited a total of twenty (20) delegates from Turkey and one (1) representative from the Commercial Service Office (USCS) in Ankara, to visit the United States for ten (10) days April 14th – 25th, 2012. The Turkish delegation was primarily composed of delegates from the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources; the transmission company, TEIAS; the regulatory authority, Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA); and private sector distribution companies.
The objective of this visit was to introduce the Turkish delegation to U.S. federal and municipal authorities engaged in Smart Grid Technologies and to showcase U.S. technologies to increase the functionality of Turkey’s current systems and serve as a backbone for further expansion.
The delegation traveled to Washington, D.C., New York, N.Y. and Philadelphia, PA. A one-day Workshop took place in Washington, D.C. and a one-day Business Briefing was held in New York City on April 20th. Site visits were arranged to both federal and municipal agencies, utilities, facilities and commercial smart grid firms in the industry sector who have specific interest or potential for business in Turkey.
Koeppen, Elliott & Associates, Limited (KEA) was be responsible to USTDA for the planning, organization, management and success of this Reverse Trade Mission (RTM).
Participation at and/or sponsorship of a USTDA event is limited to U.S. Individuals, U.S. Firms or U.S. Consultants as defined in USTDA’s Nationality Requirements, in addition to invited guests from USTDA eligible countries. USTDA reserves the right to authorize the participation of additional individuals and firms from the event’s host country and from other eligible countries within the same geographic region. Individuals or organizations that are included in the U.S. Government’s Excluded Parties List System may not attend or sponsor overseas USTDA events. Also note that by registering for USTDA events, your contact information will be provided to USTDA and USTDA may make such information available to other interested persons upon request.
